Music is how we remember where we come from.
The Bhutanese Musical Group of Rochester preserves and promotes Bhutanese Nepali music, arts, and culture by uniting our community through performance, education, and cultural celebration.
We pass our rich cultural legacy to the next generation — children growing up in the United States who deserve to hear, sing, and play the songs their grandparents knew. And we share that heritage with neighbours who have never heard a sarangi.
Our vision is a Rochester where Bhutanese Nepali identity is not preserved as an artefact, but lived as a music practice — every Sunday at the community hall, every Dashain, every Tihar, every quiet evening someone sits down at a harmonium.
